RED CLASS
Our topic this half term is:
Overview
This half term, we will be learning about growing, including the lifecycles of plants.
We will be looking at how plants grow, the different stages of growth in a flowering plant and learning about what plants need to be able to grow strong and healthy.
We will also be looking at stories that include growing, including the traditional tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, and some more recent books like Jasper’s Beanstalk. Alongside these, we will be looking at non-fiction texts that show us the stages of plant growth and talk about the importance of plants in our world.
In maths, we will be focussing on counting objects and actions up to 10, building a deep understanding of the value of the digits, including zero, and being able to use the numbers in patterns, to use them in simple calculations and to understand the concepts of ‘one more’ and ‘one less’. We will also be learning about length and capacity and exploring 2D and 3D shapes.
