Malala Day!

On Friday 12th July, it was Malala Yousafzai’s birthday – she was 27 and because Malala is one of our houses, our Captains organised a special event! Amelia and Annaliese made a poster to share around school which explained their ‘Make a sunshine’ competition. They chose a sunshine because Malala is like a ray of sunshine with her positivity! They invited children to create a sunshine – it could be textiles, painted, 3-d, digital, collage…anything they chose. All entries were displayed in the entrance hall ready for our fresh, bright start in September! It’s was free to enter and every entry got 50 house points. 3rd place received 150hp, 2nd place 300hp and the winner a huge 500hp! We also invited ALL children to wear yellow for a donation of £1 – every child who brought in £1 will received a free raffle ticket for a chance to win a special yellow-themed prize!

The winners were…

Shachin in Year 3

Joshikaa in Year 6

Benjamin in Year 2

Erik in Year 1
